MIA no more!

Well... this is a hard thing to admit but... I fell off the healthy lifestyle wagon for a bit which was the worst decision I have ever made. I can tell you once you get started living healthier through eating and exercise, it IS NOT a good idea to suddenly stop!! I have had a few health issues going on and just pretty much got depressed and quit trying to better my body and life... But guess what?? IM BACK and I'm ready to get my grind back on! I had a huge reality check yesterday when I left the doctor and realized when they put me on that dreaded scale that I have gained 20+ lbs in only two months! I have to have bloodwork done next week to see if I may have an underlying health issue that may be causing this sudden weight gain. For me however, it is no excuse to just give up and say oh well. I am still going to work my butt off to get rid of this fat and use my blog to hold me accountable. Please join me on my journey. I hope to inspire others along the way! Please pray that my bloodwork comes back fine and that I can get back to the old Haleigh by restarting a healthy lifestyle. I feel more determined than ever! I will also add recipes periodically to my page so check out that section of my blog as well.

Hope you all have a blessed day, I am off to the gym! :)

Whew! What a day!

Today was one of those days where I am just now getting a chance to actually sit down, and I didn't even work today!

I got up early this morning and started cleaning my house. I cleaned it from top to bottom. I guess you could say it was late spring cleaning. I even have every piece of laundry washed! That is an amazing feat for me! Haha.

Anyway, after I finished cleaning I went to the gym. I really didn't feel like going but I didn't want to deal with the guilt of not going, so I went. I ran a little over 3.5 miles and it felt so good! I am so glad I decided to go! I haven't been able to go to the gym in a week because my fiance had abdominal surgery and he hasn't been able to watch our girls.

Honestly, I have felt depressed not being able to get to the gym and that makes me want to eat! I am hitting it hard this week though! No excuses!

I will also be posting a new healthy recipe tonight so be sure to go check out my recipe page located at the top of my blog!

I must say today has been a success and I am pooped! Now it's time to get everyone fed and in bed so this Mom can do the same!

Hope everyone has a fabulous week!

xoxo,

Haleigh

Starting a Healthy Lifestyle? Here Are Some Great Tips to Help!

People tell me all the time that they want to start eating better and living a healthier lifestyle but they don't know where to start.

It can be a bit overwhelming if you focus on fad diets or one particular way of eating and exercising. That gets boring and sadly, 99% of the time that way of thinking and doing is going to result in failure.

It is fairly simple to change your lifestyle if you're determined and dedicated to changing. If you start out by focusing on these simple steps I am about to show you, you WILL succeed and you WILL see changes.

 I know I have.

Step 1: Clean out your pantry and fridge!
Get rid of all of the processed junk and only keep items with 3 ingredients or less. Your stomach is not a waste basket. It is there to digest foods that keep your energy level up and to keep you striving. You need nutrients, not processed foods with ingredients that you can't even pronounce. Trust me, this is the number one step and your body will thank you.

Step 2: Keep a journal
It is important to log everything you eat, even if you slip up and eat something that isn't as healthy as it should be. This keeps you aware of what you eat everyday and shows where you need to make improvements. You can keep a notebook or download an app on your phone to keep track. I love My Fitness Pal. Check it out!

Step 3: Set small goals for yourself each week
Whether its an exercising goal or an eating goal. Try to improve these goals each week. Remember to always push yourself.

Step 4: Deal with emotions in a healthy way
Some people tend to eat when they are feeling sad or angry. Instead, take your frustrations out by going for a run or doing something to get your heart rate up. It will make you feel much better. I guarantee it.

Step 5: Drink water
Don't drink your calories. Water is the best thing for your body. If you replace other drinks with water, you will see a major difference in your weight in no time.

Start with these steps and stick to them. Once you get into this routine, you can go however far you want to go with your fitness journey.

YOU can do it!

Ready. Set. Go.
