I've created this blog to hold myself accountable on my fitness journey while hopefully inspiring others to live a healthier lifestyle as well.
I became a mom to my first born,Lilly, in 2011. As many joys as she brings me, the way my body looked after I had her was not something I was thrilled about, at all. When she was around 3 months old, I decided to get in shape so I joined a gym. I lost all of my baby weight within a year and then some.
In August of 2012, much to our surprise, my fiance and I found out we were expecting another baby. We were excited but at the time I was a college student and life was very hectic. I had a toddler, was a full time student, had a job, and now was pregnant. Staying in shape was no longer a priority.
Our second baby girl, Layla Kate, was born in May of 2013 after a rough day!
I now have two amazing, smart, healthy beautiful girls who keep me on my toes!
Currently, I am just trying to juggle mommy life, work life, and be in the best shape I can be.
I started really dedicating myself to being healthy and losing weight in January 2014 when I started a local biggest loser competition. It was a 12 week program to see who in our group could lose the most weight. I fell in love with the feeling I got after every workout.
After the 12 weeks was over, I was a little upset to find that I had only lost 7 lbs... BUT I was ecstatic that I lost 14 inches!
Here are the before/after pictures from start to finish of the class.
Top row is before, bottom row is after.
These pictures prove that pounds are not the only thing that matters!
Since the class ended, I have joined the gym again and I am more dedicated than ever! I still have a long way to go. It can be very hard managing time with two girls and a full time job but I make it a priority because I want to not only be fit but be healthy for my girls. I want to set an example for them and I want to be in their lives as long as possible. This is not a fad for me, it is a lifestyle that I am learning and I plan on sticking to it for the rest of my life.
Join me on my journey. Through trial and error, I'm hoping to be the best me I can be!
xoxo,
Haleigh
